Development insights

One of the tools used by our experts and offered by UiPath is represented by three components:
  • UiPath Studio: based on Microsoft Workflow Designer (utilizing the Visio process map to create the automated flow), is the IDE where our developers build the robot. Offering an ergonomic experience, UiPath Studio is easy to use, allowing the creation of an workflow from the existing activities (pieces of code written in C# language that can be reutilized) or building new modules developed in programming languages like VB .NET, C#, Python, Java. Studio has three types of data flow representations: sequence, flow-chart, and state machine. The robot developed using UiPath Studio can be able to work with all types of variables, arguments, a large category of data – Excel, PDF, databases, Word, desktop, and web applications. The actions executed by the robot are diversified, being able to write data and extract data, handle keyboard strokes, mouse clicks, calling APIs, identifying and converting handwriting, printed text, text inside images into machine-readable text using Optical Character Recognition (OCR).
  • UiPath Assistant: once the automation code written in UiPath Studio is ready for deployment, UiPath Assistant represents the application that executes the workflow. The process is the following: after building the automation code, the package that will be deployed in the production environment is generated from UiPath Studio as a NuGet package and then provided to UiPath Assistant.
  • UiPath Orchestrator: a management tool that allows the administration of robots through a cloud application – scheduling the robots, starting the robots, stopping the robots, executing robots in parallel, seeing current jobs performed by the robots, maintaining a trace of the activity and of the encountered errors.
